2010 Forestry Department Seasonal Positions

Seasonal Forestry Technicians - approximately four months in duration starting in May

Duties: Mark trees for upcoming thinning (50%), Cruise stands to calculate volumes, trees per acre, species composition, etc. (15%), Wildland fire suppression, prescribed burning (15%), Permanent plot measurements - possibly remeasurements as well as establishment of new plots (10%), Noxious weed control (3%), Miscellaneous duties such as fence removal, boundary surveys, wildlife surveys, etc. (7%).  One position may include logging with heavy equipment.

Pay: commensurate with experience, room and board provided.
