What does the fishing rate include?

Your fishing rate includes meals, lodging, skeet and sporting clays, horseback riding and a boat with trolling motor. Company Store purchases, guides, vehicle rental, alcoholic beverages, state sales tax and customary staff gratuities are not included.

Where will I stay?

Most guests stay in the headquarters area, where there are a number of guest houses located in close proximity to the main lodge.

For more seclusion and an even higher level of personal attention, guests may choose our high-country Costilla Lodge, which is available only to groups of 16 or less.

No matter which accommodations you choose, Vermejo Park provides luxury lodging and dining to all our guests.

I prefer to fish mid-morning and late afternoon. Do you have any recommendations for how I can start early on the morning of my reservation?

Most guests choose to stay in Raton the evening before their reservation. We open the gate for check-in at 6:00 a.m. so you may start fishing at this time.

Can I cook what I catch?

If you have a guide, he can set up a fish fry for you by the lake. Please note this is only available to our guests who have a guide reservation. All other fires are prohibited. In addition, our kitchen staff would be happy to prepare your catch for you.
