Vermejo Park Ranch provides the unique environment for your future visit. Vermejo is the largest contiguous deeded ranch in New Mexico, containing 588,000 acres (about three-quarters the size of Rhode Island). Vermejo Park Ranch staff members are 24 full time and an additional 60 seasonal employees. The ranch has elevations ranging from 6,400’ to 12,960’ covering six biogeographic life zones. Of special note is the following ranch information:

 

  • 8,000-10,000 Elk

  • 3,000-4,000 Deer

  • 2,000 Bison

  • 183 Bird Species identified

  • Bald and Golden eagles winter here

  • Tree species: bristlecone pine, ponderosa and piñon pines, aspen, juniper, oak, spruce, and Douglas and white firs

  • More than 40,000 pounds of trout are stocked annually
